Let me save you some time.
Throughout the span of your life, you will often be challenged to do something you’ve never done before.
When a moment like this comes, take a deep breath, and take it one step at a time.
Today for work I needed to complete a couple of tasks I had never done before.
Instead of just finishing them, I kept on pushing them back. When I looked back down at them, hours had passed.
That’s when I realized that I had mental resistance to completing them.
When I looked at them earlier in the morning and outlined my to-do list, I ignored the part of me that wasn’t confident in completing the tasks.
That was my mistake.
After naming the problem, I found my solution: create a step-by-step process for myself.
When you’re not sure how to do something, I’ve learned that taking it one tiny step, or task at a time is immensely helpful.
For example: when I was starting my podcast and everything was new to me, I created a step-by-step process so I couldn’t get overwhelmed by the idea of the whole thing.
Record, outline title, outline description, log into Buzzsprout, upload…etc.
Step-by-step, one foot/task after another. Then eventually, you look back from the finish line and realize that it wasn’t difficult.
At that point, doing it again becomes a piece of cake.
