Before this week, I had never been to a tech conference before.
Thatās not something people usually shout from the rooftops. And yet, here I am.
Why?
Because itās real and I am not ashamed of my newness to an industry.
Going into it, I kind of was shy. I wondered how I would find things to talk about or ask the right questions, but overtime it got easier.
Though the asking and answering questions got easier, what was more of a game-changer was owning my newness and inexperience in the industry.
I got to the point where I was saying, āIām VERRYYY new to this industry butā¦ā and then Iād proceed into asking my questions. Of course, there were some instances where I didnāt hit it off with a person, and that was fine. I didnāt take it personally…onto the next. Then, there were other instances where I would sit and talk for 45 minutes. Those made everything else worth it.
Surrounded by CEOs, execs, and heads of partnership teams, this experience was unforgettable. I have so much to learn, but I got a glimpse into an amazing industry, and I want in. My future is in my hands and I have a feeling that this is going to be so much fun!
