This week I decided to pivot on my original idea. The reason for this was logistical — I realized that it would be much easier to create a product after proving myself.
Instead of jumping into the product-creation space right away, I am going to make Project Lifebook something I do on my own. I’ll go to local senior homes, record stories, showcase individuals, and share that. Once I have tested peoples’ interest in this concept, and once I have tested out different interview styles, tech set-ups, etc. I’ll be even more prepared to execute thoroughly on the product.
In a sense, I have gotten this business idea into its most minimal form, and am testing the concept. My original plan had been to test the concept with email captures, as you can read in my original plan outline. That would have been efficient, but logistically speaking, this is actually an even stronger and more efficient MVP because I don’t have to commit to anything business, operations, or customer success related. It’s all media. That gives me the space to focus entirely on execution of the interpersonal.
Though I am pivoting, I am still going to be showcasing what I have learned and practiced during this process. Trust me, even with the pivot, everything has been incredibly useful.
