What is space?
Not outer space, visual space.
The space you find in art, in-between buildings, and separating paragraphs of writing.
That space is nuanced.
Did you realize that when too much space exists between objects, they seem to yearn for less?
And when too little space exists, the objects seem to repel each other?
I didn’t realize that before.
Or this…
Did you realize that when two objects are close to each other, you see them as one image, but when two objects are farther apart, you see them as separate?
How crazy?!
Or rather, how simply apparent.
To artists, space isn’t space, it’s another element they’re working with.
It’s a tool.
