A Poem about Harmony

There is an allure in the way nature affects nature;

The tree rustles as the wind blows;

The bird chirps in response to its equal;

The dog barks when he senses his foe.

The natural world is reactionary;

It is adaptable.

Yet in the midst of this beautiful symbiosis,

A mechanical motor hums to its own design.

There is no give-and-take;

There is no yin-and-yang.

There is only power, brute force.

    Proceed with caution,

For that which is artificial does not rely on the Universe’s cadence;

And it has no remorse for the ruin it lays waste.

Humans can attempt to feign godliness;

But they will never surmount the One who orders the rhythm of creation.
