Week Two Update: Project LifeBook

In week two, my objective was to finish building so I can begin executing in week 3. Here was the week’s overview.

Everybody says that experience is the greatest educator. In the future, I want to create businesses. Thus, I decided that I might as well see how much I could learn by challenging myself to create a business in 30-days. If you’ve ever thought about doing this, and hope to live vicariously through me, you can follow my journey here and check my socials where I post regular updates.

Basic Pre-Week Overview:

  1. Monday: (if I’m honest, I worked on my podcast here)
  2. Tuesday:
  • Met with Kindra to talk about FB ads planning and execution using Figma
  1. Wednesday:
  • Built Squarespace (bare bones) website
  1. Thursday:
  • Built out Landing Page
    • Linked that to my website
      • I’m going to post these updates as blog posts, and have everything localized on my landing page
  • Built out the bare bones of my portfolio for my website
  • Recorded a video for my landing page and one for my portfolio (elevator pitch)
  1. Friday:
  • TONS of documentation
  • Sent in app for LLC
  • Started QuickBooks sign up (can’t finish until I get my LLC back – 2weeks)
  • Started Amazon Affiliates
  1. Saturday – my creative/idea day
  • Continue building Project Lifebook website – I want to have draft 2 finished
  • Build In Bloom Podcast Website (basic) – this is another project I’m simultaneously working on
    • Create a couple of templates for episode posts
  • Sign onto Youtube for In Bloom Podcast
  • Write a cool piece on a topic of my choice

Reflection on Week Two:

  • I’m behind on the schedule that I prepared at the very beginning of my project, but I expected that to happen.
    • When you’re building, there are a lot of factors that you can’t plan for (aka my web builder not functioning properly, etc.), and you just have to be ready to adapt.
  • I’m pleased with how I’ve built the landing page.
  • I need to finish and upload a ton of documentation.
  • I need to finish my website
  • I loved working with Kindra, and have a great next steps for my FB ads build-out. I’ll be using Figma.
